1. ANALGESIC (PAIN KILLERS)
- Non-opioid painkillers
- This includes paracetamol
- Some of these are available over the counter from pharmacies
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS)
- Aspirin, naproxen (Aleve), and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) are examples of OTC NSAIDs
- Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAID)
- It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling)

- Their antimicrobial activity reduce the amount the bacteria causing pain

- Ceftriaxone

- An antibiotic called metronidazole may be given for some types of bacterial infections.

3. DENTAL ANALGESIC
- Clove oil contains the active ingredient eugenol, which is a natural anesthetic
- It helps numb and reduce pain to ease a toothache
- Eugenol also has natural anti-inflammatory properties
- It may reduce swelling and irritation in the affected area
4. SALT WATER RINSE FOR DENTAL INFECTION
- If we have a toothache, until we can get to the dentist, one of the best things we can do is swish and gargle warm, salty water around in our mouth.
- A good mix is 1/2 teaspoon table salt to 8 ounces of water.
- Spit it out, don't swallow it.
5. COLD COMPRESS
- If we note swelling or simply want to relieve the pain from a toothache, try a cold compress to the side of our face.
- A cold compress might help reduce swelling and ease the inflammation.
- Crush some ice and fill into ice bag or ice into a washcloth to be used as a cold compress.
